hola amigos! and sorry pat for not posting these tasty pics of jean earlier. :)
so this past weekend i got to stop in at scott's garage and check up on jean.
she just got her a-arms powder coated, along with her sub-frame getting powder coated as well! they did an exceptional job on the coating! it goes great with the black motor! (pat wishes he could see it in person!)
enjoy. ** please clink on the photos, they get larger for better viewing! **
- new hotchkis springs, and powder coated parts. sexy mama. (all new hardware, including nuts and bolts)
another front shot:
check out the clean new hardware. (cleaner than even the swankiest of hotel beds - you get the joke right?)
here is the power steering unit. it has been modified to have tension in the steering feel. this makes it feel more like an audi than a lincoln continental. (remember riding in grandpa and grandma's lincoln and puking your guts out because you were in a 6,000lb. cloud drifting down the road?)
check out the mounting plate on the headers where i circled in red. twice the thickness & strength of other headers. hand made from southern cali! they are also ceramic coated. scott goes in and puts in small concave divets near the bolt areas where the pipe comes close to the wrenching area. this is for future ease. :)
we decided to keep the old valve covers on to add to the incredible amount of soul this white girl has.
here's a blurry shot of the rear bell housing: its been dialed-in to .02" tolerance -- at this point i know that i had the "deer-in-the-headlights" look going while talking with scott... but it's all very dialed-in with a tad set for after break-in.
jean also got a new big-block radiator (even tho she's a small block - barely).
the next time pat fly's out to the left coast here, he'll be taking delivery of jean! i'll post pics of the break-in day, and possible martinis at "the top of the mark" hotel in SF. after we do the break-in weekend that should have at least 500 miles on, pat fly's home till we start the trip in november.
see you very soon.
