july 13th: the delivery of Jean to the builder!
whew... what a weekend! (with late nights mind you!)
we finally took "Jean" to scott jones, the builder in campbell, cali. (south bay)
shower time! "Jean" gets her first steaming hot shower before she goes into surgery: (this place was a bit eerie and surreal)
here's jean going into the hospital, to get new heart and lungs and some lipo.
the BIG hand-off! just seeing this made for some very excited pants!
here are some other shots from the garage:
here is the tranny!! the TKO600! 5 speed manual, rated at 600 HP!!! along with the package came a ton of corresponding parts.
and the final of yesterday, a picture i personally like to call: "lucky bastard"!

july 7th: the audio system!
as of tuesday the 8th of july, all parts will have arrived for the monster to speak!
"Jean" will have a killer sound system using a modern vintage head unit. (classic camaro stereo with modern processing)
- front speakers: new 6" MB Quart 'Discus' component speakers (separate mount titanium tweets)
- back speakers: are 6" MB Quart Discus' coaxials hidden in the rear deck. (4ohm)
- subwoofer: 10" MB Quart 600 watts (4 ohm)
- amps: front and rear lanzar speaker amp 4ch / 1600 watts (4 ohm) MOSFET class "A" power.
- amps: lanzar subwoofer amp: 600 watts (4 ohm) MOSFET class "A" power.
the system should be pretty punchy. i was hesitant to do a 10" subwoofer driver (as 2-8" subs can punch violently), but thought we're going to get enough punch from the 4-6" drivers mounted around the car as it is. so the 10" will fill out a deep bottom end like a 9 layer chocolate cake!
here are the rears. the tweets are set-in the main driver. all of this system will be discretely mounted so you can't see it anywhere. i might just have the tweeters show and that's it. just to play with the eyeball. the subwoofer and final amp will come tomorrow. i'll post then.
